In summer 2022, UFCW Local 1000 and UFCW Local 1996 led the way to initiate a new point-of-sale retail campaign with Homeland/HAC Inc. to benefit March of Dimes raising $57,400!

The campaign launched in August 2022, and lasted for six weeks in all 77 of the grocery conglomerate’s locations across Oklahoma, Georgia, Kansas and Texas.

March of Dimes labor union liaisons Kaye Page and Matt Russow worked with Homeland/HAC management to provide point-of-sale materials and to seamlessly activate the campaign.

“We strive to implement easy, turn-key point-of-sale campaigns for our partners who are giving so much to help March of Dimes,” said Kaye Page, Senior Director of Corporate Engagement, March of Dimes. “We know how busy our union and retail partners are, which is why we aim to provide a streamlined partnership experience that benefits everyone, from the families we serve at March of Dimes, to store managers, to local union cashiers, to consumers. We’re all in this fight together.”

UFCW Local 1000 and UFCW Local 1996 have committed a generous amount of time and resources to advance March of Dimes’ mission, and this most recent retail campaign is a testament to their continued dedication to the health of all moms and babies.

Throughout this campaign, customers at Homeland, United Supermarkets, CashSaver, Piggly Wiggly and Food World locations were asked to donate $1, $3, or $5, or to round up their purchases.
